Asplante Honors Three AUB Professors

From left to right: Dr. A. Saad, Dr. N. Daghir, Mr. Michel Akl, Dr. N. Kawar

Nuhad Daghir, Nasri Kawar, and Adib Saad were honored at a luncheon held at the Holiday Inn Dunes Hotel on July 24 by the Association of Importers and Distributors and Suppliers for Agricultural Production in Lebanon (Asplante). Among the one hundred guests attending the event were former Prime Minister Rashid El-Solh, Minister of Agriculture Talal Al-Sahili, and former Ministers Elie Skaff, Adel Cortas, and Othman Al-Dana.

The president of the association, Michel Akl, gave a speech about the many valuable contributions made by the three AUB professors to agricultural development in Lebanon. He described how much they accomplished in their fields of specialization and how the University's school of agricultural and food sciences emerged as the leading agricultural institution of its kind in the Middle East.
