The Writing Center aims to enhance the culture of writing at AUB by conducting research and by supporting writers and teachers of writing.

The center promotes writing as a tool for thinking, a way to demonstrate learning, and a means of expression.

We offer free, one-hour writing consultations to AUB undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff.

  • We provide writing support during the various stages of the writing process: while generating ideas, developing and revising drafts, formatting, and documentation.
  • We provide writing support with any writing project in any discipline.
  • We provide writing support for any type of writer – beginner, intermediate or advanced.

Tutors at the Writing Center are trained to respect each writer’s level of achievement and to focus on the writer’s understanding of how to write well.

All are welcome.

Diane Wakoski

Brainstorming shows me what I know, what I need to know, and what the connections are between what I know and don’t know.

Don’t settle on just one style, write something new.

Go for walks. Dance. Do the dishes. Write about it.
