Organization

The activities of the Task Force are planned, organized, and implemented by the group at large.  Decisions and recommendations are taken and approved by voting during regular or special Task Force meetings.  Upon need, specific assignments may be delegated to permanent or ad-hoc subcommittees who report to the group at large.

The three permanent subcommittees are:

1.      Outreach Committee: Dina Abou Salem, Tamer Amin, Ibrahim Khoury, and Salma Talhouk

The subcommittee collaborates with the Office of Information and Public Relations and focuses on informing and engaging AUB community in reconstruction and community service.

2.      Support Committee: Nivine Hajj Hassan, Iman Nuwayhid, and Rami Zurayk

The subcommittee collaborates with the Deans, Office of Grants and Contracts, Comptroller’s Office, REP Office, and with other units and bodies at AUB to streamline administrative procedures from proposal submission through approval and monitoring.

3.      External Relations and Fund-raising Committee: Imad Baalbaki, Susanne Lane, and Mounir Mabsout

The subcommittee collaborates with Office of Development and External Affairs to raise funds and relays interests of donors to Task Force.

Ad-hoc committees will be formed upon need basis.

The Task Force will benefit from and rely on exiting units and bodies at AUB to develop its mechanisms and implement its operations, such as the Offices of: Information and Public Relations; Grants and Contracts; Development and External Affairs; REP; Comptroller; Deans; and other.  The Task Force will seek, as necessary, support and expertise from members at the university and outside.
