The
positive feedback to AUB SURGERY and expressions of encouragement
continue to pour in. Dr. Michel Slim wrote: Congratulations on the
quarterly publication of the Department of Surgery, which you initiated
as a link between the mother Institution and its Surgical Alumni.
This is a welcome step … which will warm up the feelings of Alumni
towards their Alma Mater…..Dr. Slim made good suggestions which
will be considered in future issues.
The circulation of AUB SURGERY
stands at 650, 450 in the US and 200 in Lebanon and the region.
Special thanks are in order; the first to the AUB Surgical Society
of North America for contributing the cost of mailing AUB SURGERY
to the Surgical Alumni in the US and, second, to Miyada Musharbash
of the AUB New York Office for her help in mailing out 450 copies
every three months. Last but not least, many thanks go to Mr. Ibrahim
Khoury, Director of the Office of Information and Public Relations
at AUB for his guidance and help with the technical aspects.
Beginning with this issue, the Department will honor its own starting
with the earlier alumni and moving up, in subsequent issues, to
more recent graduates. I welcome information about surgical alumni
who you feel should be honored and the rest of us should know about.
