Applying to the Colloquium, Ministry of Public Health, and the Lebanese Order of Physicians (LOP).
This information is presented based on the personal experience of our residents in 2011. Links will show you pictures of some of the documents.

Step 1 validating your degree: (You should request 3 copies that you will need later on)
You will need the following:

• Authenticated copy of the Lebanese Baccalaureate (or similar).
• Authenticated copy of the BS degree (or similar).
• Authenticated copy of the MD degree.
• Authenticated copy of your transcript of records. (Your grades from the registrar).

Send them via Libanpost. The documents had to be put into two prepaid envelopes because of the limit of how much one envelope can hold. (5 papers per envelope and the transcript of records alone was 5 papers.)
About a week later you will get an envelope with the following inside:

• Certified copy of MD degree.
• The copy of the Lebanese Baccalaureate, BS, and MD degrees and transcript of records that you sent. You will notice that these have been stamped (except the BS) with a large cedar stamp on the back.

Step 2: Apply for the colloquium:
After you get your certified degree (it took me 4 days but can take upto one week), you head back to the post office with:

• A photocopy of your national ID
• 2 passport pictures (Stamped by the local mayor. المختار )
• Certified copy of MD degree. (the one you got back by mail)
• Proof of practice at a hospital (From Mahmoud Hareb for AUB MDs. Get 3 copies.)

Don't worry about the whole 11 and a half month that the paper says. The government needs at least 6 months and not 12 months of training.
The cost of this one is 160,000 Lbp: 150,000 for the Colloqium fee and 10,000 for the postoffice fees, stamps... etc.
YOU WILL NOT GET BACK IN THE MAIL ANY OF THE DOCUMENTS THAT YOU SEND.
About a week later, you will receive a blue card allowing you to take the Colloqium.

 

Step 3: Requesting and sending the papers needed for the Ministry of Public Health to get
“ المهنه مزاوله إذن ”:
You will need:

• An original copy of your judicial record “ عدلي سجل ”. You can apply via Libanpost. All you need is a photocopy of your national ID card. (Get 2 copies. You will need one for the LOP.) It costs 10,000 Lbp for the 2 copies.
• Certified copy of MD degree.
• Proof of practice at a hospital (From Mahmoud Hareb for AUB MDs)
• Authenticated copy of the Lebanese Baccalaureate (or similar).
• Authenticated copy of the BS degree (or similar).
• Authenticated copy of your transcript of records. (Your grades from the registrar).
• 4 passport pictures (Stamped by the local mayor.)
• Authenticated copy of the Colloquium Certificate. You can apply via Libanpost. All you need is 1 passport picture (Stamped by the local mayor) and a photocopy of your national ID card. (You can only request 4 or 5 copies. Nothing less than that.) It costs 14,500 Lbp for 5 copies.
