SSC pairs up with AF for handicapped benefit

On Monday and Tuesday the Social Service Club set up a stand selling goods made by members of Lebanon's handicapped community. These goods ranged from bars of soap decorated with flowers to pencil holders and homemade shag-pile rugs. Prices of the quaint and colorful articles were extremely low; some were priced at LL1,500, while the most expensive sold at LL10,000. The handicrafts came from the Amal Foundation in Broumana that is concerned with the handicapped and retarded. In addition to its fundraising activities, the foundation also helps prepare the handicapped to integrate into society with vocational training. It also has several sponsorship programs that allow people to help the handicapped.
