Kasparian
resigns
"Dr. Marie Kasparian has decided to return to teaching in the
Chemistry Department and submitted her resignation as Director
of Financial Aid effective June 30, 2001," the office of the
provost announced. The Financial Aid office will now become
part of the Admissions Office, allowing student background received
through applications to be used in assessing financial aid applicants,
but it will remain an independent unit. Dr. Salim Kanaan will
now be heading both the Financial Aid and Admissions Offices.
An associate director of financial aid will be hired to manage
day-to day operations. The Senate University Financial Aid committee
have also decided to create an Inter-Faculty Financial Aid Committee
with reviews the recommendations of the Office of Financial
Aid. |
