Maroun Kisirwani has been appointed Dean of Student
Affairs, after four people assumed the position over a span
of two years since the resignation of Dr. Fawzi Hajj, who
stayed for nearly 18 years in the position. Several committees
were formed to select a dean. The search was triggered by
the disappearance and subsequent resignation of former Dean
of Student Affairs Dean Kevlin in February 2000. After running
the Office of Student Affairs for several months as acting

What are students doing other than putting on makeup
or buying the latest cellular phone? Great, the grades
are still soaring sky high, but what about the social
and cultural life a university is meant to have? One
would think with all the social events taking place
on the outskirts of AUB the students would learn a bit
and apply it to their AUB community. One widespread
comment is that students nowadays are copying their
