By Rana Siblini

The Traditional Orientation Program (TOP) for the new academic year at AUB, took place on Monday 24 September 2001 around campus. The main objective of the TOP is to acquaint new students with AUB academic policies and regulations and get them to know faculty members, staff and other new and continuing students. The orientation sessions were held in separate locations according to the faculties, and started by welcoming new students, followed by different information presented to new students, about the procedures of registration, academic rules, and about the AUB societies and student clubs. During the TOP of School of Business (SB), spoke Dean George Najjar, Assistant Dean Saed Fakhani, President of Business Society Dorris Saouma and Wael Obeid, Vice President of the SB Student Representative Committee. The TOP includes also a number of activities that will take place eventually and such as the PresidentŐs reception at Marquand House, a trip to Baalback and the AUB farm on October 7, and the traditional acquaintance party on October 11, in addition to the faculties receptions. Nadine Naffah, coordinator of TOP said that, although she was informed late this year about the TOP, she managed to organize that schedule of events, benefiting appropriately from the $1225 budget attributed to the TOP.
