The Division of Neurosurgery at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) was established in 1955 upon the return of Dr. Fuad Sami Haddad from his training at McGill University in Canada. Dr. Haddad was appointed chief of the neurosurgery unit from 1965 to 1979, followed by:

• Dr. Youssef Comair (1997 - 2006)
• Dr. Ghassan Skaf (2006 - present)
