Welcome to the Division of Neurosurgery at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). This division is the most comprehensive in the region, providing diagnosis and management for a wide spectrum of neurological disorders for adults and children, including brain tumor surgery, spine surgery, epilepsy surgery, vascular and endovascular neurosurgery, pediatric and functional neurosurgery. Over 600 operative cases are performed at the division each year with over 6000 out-patient visits, offering an exceptional experience and training ground for residents in neurosurgery.

Our directive is to train academic neurosurgeons for the future. In this new millennium, neurosurgeons will continue to be at the forefront of the treatment of patients with neurological diseases. Neurosurgeons will assume this exemplary role by developing novel neurosurgical procedures, by performing essential basic science research leading to an increased understanding of neurological disease processes, and by conducting carefully controlled clinical studies to test the effects of these treatments on our patients. Currently, many of our faculty members can guide residents in research projects in brain tumor, spine, cerebrovascular, and spinal cord injury.

As you read through this website, I hope you will realize just how well positioned we are at AUBMC to continue contributing to the field of neurosurgery  in the region and worldwide.
