- Inside the Camps
Why has violence erupted in Lebanon’s Palestinian camps, and not in Jordan or Syria? How do you empower a traumatized 11-year old in Bourj al Barajneh to stay in school? How can we ensure sustainable living conditions in disadvantaged communities? AUB faculty—our mediators, teachers, and mentors—are providing new perspectives on the lives of camp dwellers and shedding new light on the health and living conditions in Lebanon’s camps.
- Discovering the “other” Palestine
Whether they are examining patients at the Voluntary Outreach Clinic in Shatilla or removing rubble at Nahr El Bared, AUB students agree that working in refugee camps has been a transformative experience. Also: current Palestinian students discuss their AUB experience.
- Health Care without Borders
FHS and AUBMC are reaching out to Palestinian communities in both Lebanon and Palestine by training health-care professionals and alumni on both sides of the border.
