	Simply put, AUB’s Transport Research Unit (TRU) helps make the Beirut Port work. The TRU advises the Beirut Container Terminal Consortium on operations to manage the comings and goings of thousands of ships and their cargoes in a relentless drive to improve efficiency. TRU’s next project: Lebanon’s public transportation system.

	AUB Board of Trustees Announces New Leadership of its International Advisory Council
	The American University of Beirut Board of Trustees has announced that Dr. Richard A. Debs, chairman emeritus of the AUB Board of Trustees and former president of Morgan Stanley International, has assumed the chairmanship of its International Advisory Council (IAC).

	Archaeologist Nina Jidejian Launches Book on Sidon
	The more you think you know, the less you know," said renowned archaeologist Nina Jidejian, as she began her illustrated lecture on the Phoenician necropolises of Sidon on November 15. Addressing a full house at the AUB Museum of Archaeology, Jidejian discussed the three necropolises at Magharat Abloun, Aya'a, and Ain el-Helwé. Her presentation was supported by slides of recovered artifacts from the ancient cities, as well as by old pictures and hand drawings of the archaeological sites of Sidon.
