This office is the focal point for administering all activities related to research at the Faculty of  Medicine.

  The Assistant Dean for Research oversees all functions of research (basic and clinical) and research funding.  He oversees and coordinates the functions of the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Research Committee (RC) and the Representation of the Faculty of Medicine on the University Research Board.

  All research to be conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, whether requesting funds (from intramural or extramural sources) or not, is processed through this office.  The office also provides information to investigators on possible sources of funding, and about other matters related to conduct of research, such as facilities and expertise available, potential collaborations, and the humane and ethical standards for conducting research on humans and animals.
