University
Libraries abide by all American University of Beirut policies and codes
of conduct applicable on campus. Within the libraries, the
following guidelines of behavior are recommended:
- Care for the University Libraries: Marking by pen,
pencil, or marker; tearing or defacing books, periodicals, pamphlets,
microforms, etc; or misusing/abusing University Libraries equipment,
furniture, machines, or facilities are strictly forbidden.
- Noise and Behavior: Low voices and orderly conduct
are appreciated by all University Libraries patrons and staff. In
the study areas, conversations, noise, and rowdy behavior are strictly
forbidden.
- Cellular Phones: Patrons are requested to turn off
their cellular phones within the libraries.
- Food and Drink: Food and beverages are not allowed
in the libraries.
- Smoking: The University Libraries offer a smoke-free
environment. Smoking is strictly borbidden in all libraries.
- Fire Alarm: In case of fire alarm, patrons should
leave the premises immediately with their personal belongings only.
