International Museums Day

Male Participants Needed for a Research Study
 

The Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences is conducting a research study on effects of fat types on appetite hormones. Male subjects (18-50 years old) are needed to participate in the study. Participants will benefit from free blood tests.

Criteria for Participation: Participants should be 18-to-50-year-old males. They also should be non-smokers with no history of medical chronic diseases.

Participants will have the privilege of free testing, free body composition analysis, free capsules and free meals. No risks are associated with the study. Your participation will contribute additional information regarding the beneficial effects of polyunsaturated fats.

Eighth FEA Student Conference (FEASC)  
May 20 and 21, 2009
The 8th FEA Student Conference (FEASC) will be held at FEA on May 20 and 21, 2009. This year the conference will be dedicated to the inauguration of the 15th president of AUB, Dr. Peter F. Dorman. This annual conference provides a forum in which students can present their projects, research, and design. The program will feature five tracks and will include distinguished plenary presentations and technical sessions. A concurrent exhibition will highlight the work of FEA students including final year projects. Awards will be granted for outstanding contributions (papers, presentations, and posters). The conference accepts paper submissions from students from other universities in Lebanon.

The First Dagpa Career Fair
 

The first Dagpa Career Fair (DCF) will take place in Saturday August 1, 2009 at The Metropolitan Hotel, Sin El Fil, Lebanon.

Registration for candidates is free and submission of resumes is strongly encouraged, so that employers can pre-select candidates for interviews prior to the fair.

DCF2009 will include Company Exhibitions, Interviews and an information session: "Working in the Middle East".

Seventh AUB Faculty Seminar:
"Teaching And Learning With Technology"

Three AUB faculty members will share their experiences in using technology in their courses. A guest speaker from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Professor Alan Aycock, will talk about Blended Learning in Large Enrollment Courses.

President Dorman will open the Seminar. Delicious food and drinks will be offered.

Toy Tea Party
 

The Women's Auxiliary of AUBMC is holding its 'Annual Toy Party' at the gardens of Marquand house on Thursday June 18 at 5:30 pm. The program will include a dance presentation in collaboration with the Indonesian embassy. The AUB Archeological Museum: Founded in 1868, the AUB Archeological Museum is the third oldest Museum in the Near East and was begun with a donation from General Cesnola, the American Consul in Cyprus. The collection has since then grown steadily. Today the Museum exhibits a wide range of artifacts from Lebanon and neighboring countries, from the Early Stone Age to the Islamic period.
Visitors to the museum, which is located in Post Hall and is open daily Monday to Friday, can witness thousands of years of history through the museum's collections of flint, pottery, bronzes, glass, sculptures, cylinder seals, jewelry and mosaics.

 
 
People Needed for Data Entry
