President's Service Excellence Award 2008:
Call for Nominations
Every member of the AUB community is encouraged to submit a nomination of an outstanding AUB employee to the President's Service Excellence Award 2008.

Details
The President's Service Excellence Award is presented to AUB personnel who show excellence in the performance of their duties and have fulfilled their responsibilities beyond the call of duty. Eight groups of award recipients have been recognized so far, with their names appearing on the Wall of Honor at College Hall.

In order to start the 2008 awards selection process, nominations of AUB employees who demonstrate extraordinary service quality are encouraged. A nominee could be an employee from any level and any area (other than teaching faculty and clinicians), and should be someone who has demonstrated superior "customer" service leading to increased "customer" satisfaction. This means that these employees have been outstanding when dealing with "customers" who include students, hospital patients and any internal AUB users -- such as other AUB employees --.

Nominations can be made on the pdf form, accessed below, and supported by appropriate justification. The form should delivered prior to January 31, 2008 to Andre Nahas, College Hall, 5th Floor.

Do You Know!
The first three women to join AUB were Adele Kassab, Rosa Kulunjian, and Ossana Maksoudian, who entered the School of Nursing in 1905.
The University of Istanbul started in 1914 a special section for girls in the field of literature, mathematics and natural sciences. In 1921 the women students boycotted their classes and entered the male students' classes. This lead the University of Istanbul to becoming coeducational.
Both AUB and Istanbul University became coeducation in 1921. Women students were admitted to AUB to study dentistry and pharmacy in the academic year 1921-22.
