| The governance structure of
the new Worldwide Alumni Association of AUB (WAAAUB). includes both
an Alumni Council and a Board of Directors. All alumni are asked to suggest candidates for these two bodies as well as alumni candidates for nominees to the AUB Board of Trustees. (You should have received an email or letter asking for your input.) A six-member Nominating Committee made up of AUB alumni will select the names of the candidates that will appear on the ballots. We are looking for diverse candidates with strong ties with AUB alumni, a commitment to the University, and a desire to make the WAAAUB a success! | Want to dance, have fun, and
meet friends and nice people? Then join the Folk Dance Festival club. Be part of the AUB dance group in this year's 34th Folk Dance Festival that will be held on May 20, 2007. Do you want to know more? A number of schools and universities will be participating and performing different dances: Mexican, French, American, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Egyptian and others from countries all over the world, not to forget the Lebanese dabke. Of course you'll be taught all these dances. No need for you to have any prior dancing skills. At the Festival day AUB will shine with the colorful cultural costumes by AUB students and the other participating groups. Just join and you'll be having a very enjoyable time away from stress, papers, and exams! | AUB School of Nursing Accreditation
by CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education). CCNE is a voluntary US accreditation program through the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. The School of Nursing (SoN) at AUB is currently engaged in preparing for a regularly scheduled review, which will take place May 21-23, 2007. As part of this review, interested parties including students, alumni, faculty and the practice community are invited to provide written input into the deliberations of the evaluation team by sending comments to CCNE about AUB SoN. These comments must be received by April 20, 2007. Only signed comments received by April 20, 2007 will be accepted, and these comments will only be shared with the evaluation team. | On Tuesday 31 January 1961, Emile Bustani, a graduate of AUB and a former President of its Alumni Association, donated one hundred thousand dollars to his Alma Mater to be used in building a residence hall for AUB women students, to be called "The Laura Bustani Hall" in honor of his wife. Ground was broken on 12 February 1962. Construction was completed on 15 September. Official inauguration took place on 10 November 1962. Emile Bustani died on 15 March 1963 in an air crash. | ||
