"Travelling Traditions:
Comparative Perspectives on Near Eastern Literatures"
The Anis Makdisi Program in Literature (AMPL) and "Europe in the Middle
East - the Middle East in Europe" program are convening an international
academy on 2-13 October 2006: "Travelling Traditions: Comparative
Perspectives on Near Eastern Literatures".
Public Lectures, Discussions and Film
The academy is chaired by Professor Friederike Pannewick and Dr. Samah
Selim and is held in cooperation with the Orient Institute and the
Heinrich Boll Foundation - Middle East Office.
The program will include specialized and public sessions. The public

The AUB Planner includes the AUB mission statement, words of the Alma
Mater, the University Calendar, essential University telephone numbers,
monthly planners for 2006 and 2007, an address section, semester
schedule, world time, Hejira calendar, addresses of alumni branches
around the world and a small building-coded map of the University.
Specifications
The AUB Planner is 8.5 x 16.5 cm in size. It comes in six different
cover designs: creative, or plain leatherette in black, blue, green,
havana or tan embossed with the AUB logo.

Buy the AUB Planner from the AUB Bookstore or order it from the Supply
Department.

societies of their choice. The registration will start on October 2,2006
in West Hall-Room 103.

What is the procedure? Visit the Department of student activities in
West Hall
Room 103-between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Pick up a membership application.
Fill in the application; pay the membership fee of 5000 at Cashier's
office. Submit to Department of Student Activities in West Hall.
Is there a deadline?
To be a voting member you should register before December 20, 2006. For
