Trip to Becharreh, Ehden, and the Qannoubeen Valley

June 11, 2006


The Youth Division of the League for Lebanese Women's Rights-part of the Council for Lebanese Women's Rights-would like to invite you to
a trip to Becharreh, Ehden, and the Qannoubeen Valley.
Departure: Corniche Al Mazraa, facing Hawa Chicken, at 7:00 a.m. (gathering time is 6:30 am)
Day Schedule
1. While heading to Ehden, a stop will be made at the "Al Meedan" square to have breakfast.
2. Arriving at Becharreh to visit the "Gebran Khalil Gebran" Museum.
3. Heading to the Qannoubeen Valley-to see the archeological remains via a shuttle that will provide transportation. (If you would prefer walking that won't be a problem at all!)
4. At lunch time, participants can either dine under the trees beside the riverside, or at a restaurant nearby.
5. Heading back to Beirut at exactly 5:00 p.m.
NOTE:
A fare of 10$ is required per person, children require no fee. This covers the transportation fees; excluding food.

Because of the Hostler construction works, entrance to the beach is directly from the corniche. Please take care when crossing the road from campus.

Summer Hours for Non-Academic Personnel
Summer hours will begin on MONDAY, JUNE 26, 2006 and will end on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2006. The daily working schedule during the said period will be from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.


To all AUB Graduating Students

In order to efficiently expedite the process of distributing the caps, gowns and hoods to all graduating students, kindly follow the steps below:
I. Step I:
Fill-in a “Cap and Gown Registration Form” at the Registrar’s Office.
II. Step II:
Take the form and proceed to pay the rental and refundable deposit amounts at the Cashiers Office, during cashiers working hours.
III. Step III:
After payment, proceed to pick-up the cap, gown, and hood from West Hall Room B109 (ext. 3155) as per the schedule below:
Monday May 29, 2006 to Friday June 23, 2006:
From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm from Monday to Friday (weekends not included).
IV. Step IV:
Caps, gowns, and hoods can be returned after the commencement ceremony to West Hall room B109 (ext. 3155) as per the schedule below:
Monday June 26 2006 to Friday July 14, 2006 from 9:00 am to1:00 pm
Graduates returning their graduation Caps/Gowns and Hoods after the above dates will be charged a penalty fee of 15,000L.L. which will be deducted from their deposit.
End of September 2006 will be the last date to return the garments. If you do not return them by that date, we will consider that you would like to keep them and the full deposit will be charged.
V. Step V:
Proceed to the cashier’s office with the copy of the Registration Form (blue) and the receipt for reimbursement of deposit. Kindly note that the 45,000 L.L. rental fees are not refundable.

Reserve Reading Room in Jafet Library

During the Reading and Exams periods, i.e. May 29 to June 13, 2006, the schedule for the Reserve Reading Room in Jafet Library only will be as follows:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 2:00 am
Saturday 8:00 am - 2:00 am
Sunday 12:00 noon - 2:00 am
In order to provide adequate seating space and a quiet studying environment for our students during final exams, the Access Control System will be activated in Jafet Library.
During that period, only active AUB users with a valid AUB ID will be able to enter the library, and every user must use his/her own AUB ID. Please note that IDs are not transferable. In case of infringement the ID will be confiscated and the student will be referred to the Dean of Student Affairs.
We do count on your cooperation to maintain calm and quiet.
