The Writing Center is Open.

The mission of the Writing Center is to enhance the culture of writing at the university by providing a forum for writers to discuss their texts. The center offers free, one-hour consultations for writers at AUB. Please walk in or make an appointment. Extension 3157.

The Writing Center tutors are trained to support writers by discussing such topics as developing and connecting ideas, revising, structuring an argument, documenting sources, editing, or proofreading. The tutors will not write, research, or edit students' papers, but focus on ways to strengthen the writers' own understanding of how to write.


British Council Scholarships

The British Council is promoting six  scholarship schemes for post
graduate study in the UK
Open only to Lebanese students, each of the six scholarships has its own requirements.
Deadline to submit the applications: End of January 2006.

German Embassy Scholarships

* Opening of the exhibition "Whirling Dervishes" by Munira AlKazi. (Munira is one of the foremost artists of the Arab World. Between 1960 and 1970, she exhibited in London, India, Lebanon (Gallery One, 1965), USA, Germany, France and Kuwait. Her paintings are available in major museums, like the MoMA in NY and the V&A in London. Since 1970, she led a rather reclusive life. This is her first exhibition in Beirut since 1970). You will not need to have any dancing skills and you will be taught all these dances.
