A CAMS Mini-Course

The Center for Advanced Mathematical Sciences cordially invites you to an introductory mini-course by Dr. Bassam Fayad (CNRS. Université Paris 13, AUB) entitled "Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory".

Description

The course will include the description of the basic objects of dynamics, the essential notions, examples and constructions that are at the core of the theory. The classes will be held around the following topics:

- Overview of the structural stability theory. Study of the local behavior around equilibria: Grobman-Hartman theorem, stable and unstable manifolds.
-Measure preserving systems: Recurrence, ergodic theorems and basic stochastic properties.
-Overview of the elliptic paradigm, a glance on KAM theory. The different sessions will be made self-contained and independent from each other. Some basic linear algebra and real analysis are required as a background.

AUB invites all its graduates and registered current students to attend its annual Job Fair which will be held on the Green Oval and facing West Hall, on May 4 and 5, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The Job Fair provides graduating seniors and interested AUB graduates the opportunity to meet representatives of various potential employers and to discuss with them possible career opportunities.
