DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

At a time when the world is faced with tough economic challenges, and when competition has become the central concern for all businesses including healthcare, we rely more than ever on our employees to deliver our mission.

We understand the need to invest in our people, and we endeavor to work with our staff to create an environment that enables everyone to add value to patient care.

We are constantly working towards a culture of impartiality, transparency and empathy and an environment that is inclusive, supportive and focused on excellence, building on the high levels of pride and loyalty that already exist within AUBMC.

In the past couple of years the drive forward of Human Resources at AUBMC relied on an ambitious vision and mission. We have been striving to align human capital with the strategic direction of the Medical Center, and implement all functional plans including staff development.

This required major effort in knowledge transfer to AUBMC management at all levels, and in developing solutions that incorporate sound HR practices consistent throughout the medical center. While only some consequences have been immediate, these solutions tend to have lasting positive effects on the work environment.

Our challenge today is moving from Human Resources Management to Talent Management that reaches for a competency-based workforce geared towards excellence, armed with the necessary skills and competencies for more effective current and future roles and, cumulatively, for a better AUBMC.

We strongly believe that the essence of what we do today, will define performance outcomes of tomorrow, and it is only by being receptive and agile, we can help AUBMC stay at the top.
