Cocktail - “Gruen Eatery”, Beirut, Lebanon           March 18th, 2008

The Brave Heart Fund hosted friends, supporters, contributors, and media representatives at reception held at Gruen Eatery thanks to the generosity of OSLO and the Gefinor Center. The evening’s highlight came with the announcement that actress/director Nadine Labaki has agreed to be the Brave Heart Fund’s goodwill ambassadress. Nadine Labaki will be a spokesperson for the cause of children with heart disease. A short presentation on the BHF 2008 awareness campaign was screened, and the event also launched fashion items created especially for the Brave Heart Fund by Lebanese designers Maria Arida and Rola Ali-Ahmed.

Event included a presentation about the Brave Heart Fund and its activities along with interviews with the Press, including An-Nahar, L’Orient Le Jour, The Daily Star, Mondanité, Prestige, and Layalina, among others.

Lebanese film director and actress Nadine Labaki, was proudly introduced to the guests as the Brave Heart Fund’s newly- found ambassador and spokesperson.

Two collection items were launched and sold at the event, including Lebanese designers Maria Arida’s “LOVE” Pouches and Rola Ali-Ahmad’s “Peace in the Heart” jewelry, designed exclusively for the Brave Heart Fund. Heart- shaped cookies, prepared by OSLO bakery, were also sold at the event, and all proceeds from the items sold were donated to the Brave Heart Fund in the hope that someday “No child dies of heart disease because of a lack of funds”.
