Second Beirut International Marathon October 10, 2004
A Heart-Warming Achievement!
136 runners, infected with the marathon fever, chose to run in the second Beirut International Marathon on October 10th, 2004 to raise vital funds for needy children with heart disease. The Brave Heart Fund cause motivated runners of all ages and from all walks of life. These included a large group of bankers from the Banque Libano-Française, students and faculty from the American University of Beirut and the International College, as well as the friends of the Brave Heart Fund.
Furthermore, Banque Libano-Française chose to sponsor the Brave Heart Fund runners by covering all t-shirt and caps expenses. In its tradition of helping the community by supporting cultural and youth events, Banque Libano-Française set up a donating system in all of the bank’s branches across the country.
Beirut International Marathon was kind enough to allocate a stand at the hospitality tent, which was graciously visited by the first lady Mrs Andrée Lahoud, who supports the Brave Heart Fund.
Proceeds from the successful runs totaled $27,092.
