New Students Applying for Financial Aid

These are new students admitted to AUB

Continuing Students Applying for Financial Aid

These are continuing AUB students (enrolled for more than one semester) who are either applying for the first time (called first-time applicants) or have previously applied for financial aid irrespective of whether they received or not financial aid (called previous applicants)

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DEADLINE TO APPLY. The last few days preceding the deadline are usually the busiest, this means a longer waiting time to submit the application and documents. Moreover, you need at least a week to prepare all the documents required and all complete documents must be submitted with the application.

  New Students:

These are new students admitted to AUB and applying for financial aid.

Interested students are kindly asked to download, complete, and then submit the application IN PERSON along with all the required documents to the Financial Aid Office.  Students may as well obtain the application from the Financial Aid Office.  It is very important to read instructions carefully before filling the application.  Applications that have missing information and/or missing documents will be considered incomplete and hence will not be evaluated.

Lebanese applicants residing (with their families) outside Lebanon may submit the financial aid application and the documents by mail or fax within the deadline. All documents listed are still required.

International applicants residing (with their families) outside Lebanon may submit the financial aid application and the documents by mail or fax within the deadline. The documents required are those available in and applicable to the applicant's country and equivalent to those listed in this site. In addition, a copy of the applicant's passport is required.

Students who have not applied for financial aid for the academic year 2007-08 may apply for the Spring semester 2008 not before September 27, 2007, and not later than November 30, 2007. New students wishing to apply for the academic year 2008-09 should submit their applications and supporting documents starting December 5, 2007 but not later than February 4, 2008.   Application forms are now available at the Financial Aid Office, or may be downloaded by clicking on the link below.

Applicants should consider not waiting till the last few days since filling the application and preparing all the required documents may take around a week.  During the last few days students may have to wait in queue lines.

  Continuing Students:

 

First-time Applicants

AUB students applying for financial aid for the first time for the academic year 2008-09, should submit their applications and supporting documents starting January 11, 2008 and not later than March 31, 2008.   Application forms are now available at the Financial Aid Office, or may be downloaded by clicking on the link below.

  List of Required Documents

 

Previous Applicants

 

These are AUB students who have previously submitted an application for financial aid, at least once, irrespective of whether they have been granted financial aid. Previous Financial Aid Applicants can apply ONLINE for academic year 2003-2004.

 

First Step:

It is very important to read the instructions and messages carefully before and while filling the application.  Any error messages that are displayed while filling the application must be noted and reported to the Financial Aid Office as this may jeopardize the application status on the system. 

 

Fill in all the relevant fields.  Missing information will render your application incomplete.  After saving the online application and before clicking the Submit button, applicants should make sure to have a printed hard copy of the application.  Once you submit your online application it is very imperative that you enter it again to check that all information is correctly saved.  It is also preferable to do periodic checking of the data entered, however changes are possible only before the deadline, date after which you can access your application only for display.

 

Second Step:

The hard copy of the application should then be submitted along with a passport-size photo and all required and complete documents IN PERSON to the Financial Aid Office prior to the deadline.  Applications that have missing information and/or missing documents will be considered incomplete and hence will not be evaluated.
 

Application Dates and Deadlines:

Students who have not applied for financial aid for the academic year 2007-08 may apply for the Spring semester 2008 not before November 15, 2007, and not later than December 14, 2007. Students wishing to apply for the academic year 2008-09 should submit their applications and supporting documents starting January 11, 2008 but not later than March 31, 2008.   The Online Application for the academic year 2008-09 will therefore be accessible starting January 11, 2008.

 

Students should consider not waiting till the last few days since filling the application and preparing all the required documents may take around a week.

After the deadline of each period, the online application will not be accessible except for display of information. Changes are not allowed after the deadline.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Only COMPLETE applications will be processed.  An application is considered incomplete when information is missing in the application and not all required documents are submitted.

• Financial Aid applications are valid for one academic year only.  A new application is required for each new academic year.

• An interview is required of parents and applicants when applying for the first-time. Missing the interview renders the application incomplete. Further interviews may be required if a student is reapplying and/or if additional clarification is required.

• House visits could be scheduled to further assess the applicant's financial need.

• DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DEADLINE TO APPLY. You need few days to prepare all the documents required and all complete documents must be submitted with the application.
