Dr. Iman Nuwayhid, professor of Environmental Health, has agreed to succeed
Huda Zurayk as dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, beginning September
1, 2008. The appointment is the culmination of an international search
to fill the deanship. The experience, credentials, and quality of those
who applied for the position were notable, which indicates the level to
which this faculty has risen internationally.
Dr. Nuwayhid completed his MD degree at AUB in 1984. He received his MPH
and DrPH from Johns Hopkins University in 1985 and 1990. He joined the
faculty at AUB in 1991 and became full professor in 2004.
