Kulturzentrum Sponsors Classical Music Concert at Assembly Hall

Pianist Klaus Melber

Kulturzentrum6, the ever-active Lebanese-German Association for the Promotion of Culture, with the support of the German Embassy in Lebanon, organized on February 26 a piano recital at Assembly Hall, where German pianist Klaus Melber performed before a select gathering of classical music lovers. This recital, performed at the University of Balamand on February 23, was repeated on February 27 at the Kulturzentrum Aula Auditorium.

The concert consisted of two main musical intervals by Wolfgang Mozart and Franz Schubert. The Mozart pieces performed were Fantaise en ut Mineur and the three-movement Sonata Number 14. The evening concluded with Schubert's four-movement Sonata Number 20.

Melber comes from a family of musicians and took his early music training with his father. In college, he studied musicology and Latin languages. He earned a diploma in piano-playing from the Conservatory of Stuttgart in Germany, where he later taught that instrument. Melber has performed with several renowned musicians, and his concert in AUB was part of his first musical tour in Lebanon.
