Bathish Greets the Season

The Balamand choir performing

The month of peace, joy and forgiveness could not have been better completed without the grace of serene voices to bless the upcoming season. For that, came the concert of Christmas carols as a celebration by the Balamand Choir under the direction of former AUB professor Robert B. Betts.

Organized by the Women's League, the concert was held on Monday, December the 3 in West Hall's Bathish Auditorium. It was the League's gift in conclusion of a string of events and activities for the year 2007.

After a series of announcements of past and upcoming events, Arminée H. Choukassizian, Women's League Chairperson Programmer, introduced Professor Betts to the attendees- mainly members of the Women's League.

Young and old faces honored the upcoming season with an overwhelming Christmas spirit and joy. The choir succeeded in conjuring an atmosphere of magic for an hour of breathtaking performance.

Professor Belts directed the choir accompanying the performers on the piano. He has held more than 50 performances in year 2000 before moving from AUB to the University of Balamand as a full time professor. He held five to seven concerts each year in Lebanon as well as in other countries.
