Kenney Appointed New Vice President of Finance

VP Steve Kenney

Steve Kenney has been selected Vice President of Finance for AUB, reporting directly to President Waterbury.

His appointment became effective as of September 17.

Kenney holds an MBA/CPA and has over fifteen years of successful senior level financial experience in the public and private sector, including ten years in higher education. His background also includes in-depth experience in audit, financial controls, budgeting, and financial systems. He had primary responsibility for setting up the financial organization of the American University of Bulgaria and was with that organization for five years. He also served at the University of Maine for seven years as Assistant Director/EDP Audit Manager.

Kenney will face many challenges in maintaining the University's fiscal balance while finding the means to support its strategic plan and initiatives. His expertise in financial information systems will be of great benefit as AUB seeks full implementation of its Oracle FIS. His experience as an auditor and accountant will inform his leadership in reviewing and reorganizing the University's business rocedures. Reporting to Kenny are the Comptroller, the Director of Financial Reporting and Budgeting, the Director of Business Services, and the Director of EHSRM.

Kenney is joined at AUB by his wife Paula and his children, Monica and Darren.
