Coca-Cola Donates Playroom

The American University of Beirut Medical Center received a generous donation from Coca-Cola for the sixth-floor children's playroom.

"This will be a start of a long-term partnership that will include regular children's entertainment programs and the hosting of animators to help make the children's stay at hospital more pleasant," said Walid Katergi, AUB associate director of Development.

Coca-Cola's donation, which is the largest single donation to the playroom, includes the provision of computers, television sets, DVDs, a digital camera, books, and a playstation.

The announcement was made at the playroom, in the presence of Katergi as well as of Dr. Mohammed Mikati, chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, and Lubna Forzley, Coca-Cola's public affairs and communications manager. "This playroom will help speed up the physiological and psychological healing process of the children," said Dr. Mikati.

Stuffed white polar bears were distributed by Coca-Cola to the children who are currently being hospitalized.
