Presidential Search Committee

Following the news of President Waterbury's decision to give up the presidency of the University at the end of the 2007-08 academic year, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Thomas Q. Morris announced to the AUB community the formation of a Presidential Search Committee, made up of the individuals listed in the box below.

The task of the search committee is to identify for the Board of Trustees names of one or more qualified individuals to be considered as AUB's next president. Although the final decision about the next president rests with the Board of Trustees, the committee, in its search, will communicate and consult with members of the AUB community. The committee invites and welcomes suggestions and comments from faculty, staff, students, and alumni and will meet with them. An e-mail address, PresidentSearch@aub.edu.lb will facilitate communication and consultation with the committee.

Chairman Morris said he would also announce in the near future the name of an executive search firm which will aid the Search Committee in its task. He affirmed the Board of Trustees' aim of creating a smooth transition for the leadership of AUB.
