AUB Students Run to Spread the Message...
Not the Virus

Campaign participants stage a red ribbon on the green oval

AIDS is claiming the lives of millions of victims every year, despite the efforts to spread awareness against the virus. Joining forces worldwide on how to limit the disease, the Lebanese Red Cross at AUB organized for the third year in a row its AIDS Awareness Campaign.

On December 1, World's AIDS Day, AUB students participated in the AIDS Run, running all around campus, starting and ending at West Hall. They then all joined in the wearing of the symbolic human AIDS ribbons to mark the day.

"This year's motto was 'Spread the message… Not the virus,'" said Houssam Sleiman, member of the Lebanese Red Cross at AUB and a second-year electrical engineering student. "Our campaign consisted of a run, the wearing of the AIDS ribbons, and the display of awareness statistics and posters."
