On March
31, 2003 the Physical Plant family held a farewell party for seven
employees who had applied for and been accepted to the Early Departure
Plan. Altogether, the seven employees had racked up 262 years of service
to AUB in devotion and hard work, averaging over 37 years for each
person.
Each
employee was presented with a brass plaque in recognition of his
significant contribution to both the Physical Plant and the University:
Tanios
Atallah, Samir Halabi, Wahib Kadi, Salman Kassas, Elie Said, Said Shehab
and Kamel Trabulsi.
Their
colleagues gathered around to join in the celebration and farewell
speeches and also to surprise the departing employees with a very tasty
cake and drinks.
