research workshop on childbirth practices was held at the Faculty of
Health Sciences (FHS) on November 23. A team of four researchers from
the Departments of Community Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology
at Damascus University, Syria, and a team of eight researchers from
FHS participated in the event. |

"The Macro-Environment of Childbirth
in Syria" and research findings on "Routine Practices in Pregnancy,
Labor and the Postpartum Period as Implemented by Syrian Obstetricians". The Lebanese team presented research proposals being developed on "Intervention for Smoking Cessation During Pregnancy" and "Providers Study on Consultations for Sexual Problems". |
Presentations were made by Dean Huda Zurayk on academic programs and research at FHS. Dr. Marwan Khawaja then spoke on the Center for Research on Population and Health, as well as on the planned study in the suburbs of Beirut to be undertaken by the Urban Health Research group. — | ||||||||
