At its session on June 20-21, the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools acted to grant Candidate for Accreditation status to AUB.

This means that two of the four steps towards accreditation have been accomplished. Now the process will move on to the next phase, an all-inclusive self-study exercise which must be accomplished in two distinct steps: designing the self-study and the self-study itself, which may take up to five years.
