AUB Hosts International Tango Festival

The first Annual Beirut International Tango Festival was held at AUB April 23-26. This initiative was organized by AUB’s Continuing Education Center. The festival started on the afternoon of Thursday April 23 with a free outdoor performance between the AUB Main Gate and College Hall. On the evening of April 23, couples of Argentinian Tango from Argentina, Paris, Sweden and Norway accompanied by the live music of the Silencio orchestra of Argentina performed at the Bathish Auditorium in West Hall. The workshops, which took place on the AUB campus from April 24 to 26, were administered by professional tango instructors including Diego Riemer and Maria Belen Giachello of Argentina, Mazen Kiwan and Maria Filali of France, Pino Dangiola and Natalie Brateli of Sweden, and Pasi Lauren and Maria Lauren of Norway.
