Mabruk!

An active, well-designed web-enhanced course is one that not only uses Moodle, but also makes students come back to frequently check course content, post assignments or discussions, and comment on postings by their peers.

This is not a simple task. It requires dedication and much effort from instructors to design interesting and interactive activities in Moodle and/or to post and reply to student postings continuously. The Academic Computing Center (ACC) would like to acknowledge the AUB instructors who taught the most active courses  in the fall 2008-09 semester in each faculty and school.

The course selection was based on server statistics on how many times the students accessed the course material. Note that this data does not measure a faculty member’s knowledge of technology, or teaching skills in general, but it reflects the instructors’ success in using the various Moodle tools to complement their classroom meetings and in motivating their students to use them as well.

Below is a list with the top three most active courses in each AUB faculty and school. In addition to the names of instructors and courses, the average number of times the students in those courses accessed the material during the semester are shown.

In addition, ACC would like to recognize and congratulate all the many other faculty members who have successfully web-enhanced their fall 2008-09 courses.
