New Appointments: Jad Khayat

Jad Khayat

Jad Khayat has been appointed the deputy chief financial officer for Medical Affairs, effective September 15, 2008.

Khayat, who has been an extremely active member of the medical finance team since 2002, graduated with an MBA degree from AUB in 2004.  He began his career as the budget officer in 2002 and was promoted as a cost accountant in 2006.  He served as an acting chief financial officer from March to September 2008.

Khayat’s performance has been exemplary.  Quickly learning all the various ropes of medical finance, he held the budget and planning responsibilities for both the capital and operating budget of the AUB Medical Center, as well as for the Faculty of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the  Saab Medical Library.  He also worked diligently with the external accountants and the software provider to implement the Medlink costing application and develop new pricing schedules for the center.

In his new capacity. Khayat primarily will be handling the center’s budget and planning concerns, as well as those of the costing and pricing units.
