Dean Daghir Publishes Second Edition of Book on Poultry Production

AUB Dean Emeritus Nuhad Daghir has published the second edition of his book, Poultry Production in Hot Climates (May 2008). While the first edition (1995, by CAB International in the United Kingdom) was the first book to be published in this field for the warm regions of the world, the second edition includes three additional chapters that describe how detrimental effects of heat stress can be reduced through the manipulation of housing, breeding, nutrition, and management in poultry production. The book also includes new contributions on controlled environment housing, waterfowl, and the breeding of fast growing broilers for hot climates. The second edition was also published by CAB International and can be ordered on-line (www.CABI.org).
