2.    Amideaest-USAID: Transparacy and Accountability Grant: “Professional ethics for Engineers with Local Case Studies: www.ethicsengineering.org,” 2001-2002

3.  Preparation of Project Document on Capacity Building of for the Adoption and Application of Energy Codes for Buildings in Lebanon.          Agency: UNDP- Beirut –Lebanon ( Feb-March 2000).

4.   Worked on a Climate Change Project for UNDP to estimate Greenhouse Gases Emissions of the Industrial Sector in Lebanon for the base year 1994 and performed a mitigation study to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in that sector.       Agency: UNDP and Ministry of Environment, Beirut-Lebanon (1997-1999).

        1. Received Outstanding Reviewer Award for the ASME Journal of Heat Transfer for   the year 2003.

2. Received ASME Fellow grade on June, 2001, Heat Transfer Division. 

3. Received support from USAID for one month environmental study visit to the US Environmental Protection Agency in Philadelphia, which took place from March 23 to April 6, 1996 and to the Environmental Institute at Carnegie Mellon University by Invitation of the Institute Director, Prof. Cliff Davidson from April 8 to April 22, 1996.

4. Received long term faculty development grant from University Research Board to conduct research at the Mechanical Engineering Department of MIT, with Prof. Bora Mikic during the summer of 1995.

5. Received DAAD scholarship from the German Foreign Exchange Services to conduct research at the Technical University of Berlin, Herman Fottinger-Institute for thermo and fluid dynamics. The grant was awarded  for the summer period of July and August 1993.

      6. Received best paper award in Thermophysics for 1984. The award is presented by AIAA Thermophysics Committee for the paper entitled "Heat Transfer Enhancement of Oscillatory Flow in a Grooved Channel", by Ghaddar, Patera and Mikic.

·   Installation and operation of the AUB automatic Weather Station at the Faculty of Engineering.

·   Issuing the Climatological Data - Monthly Bulletin for Beirut city.(1991-1999). The Bulletin provided hourly data on solar and weather conditions. Also Production of formatted weather data files of Beirut compatible with DOE-2 Energy Analysis Programs (1991-1999).

·   Upgrading the weather station data acquisition system, which has resumed operation on October 2000. Work with the help of Prof. Ali El-Hajj is on going to directly link the data files to the web for display and retrieval.

·   Certification obtained on IPCC Guidelines on Green House Gas Inventory, United Nations, 1998

1. FEA Total Quality Management Committee: Focus on outcome-based teaching and learning and finding proper techniques to assess the learning experience of the students. Participation in the development and preparation of Introduction to Engineering I & II courses for the new curriculum. Restructure of the FEA first common year and wrting the outline of 5 of these courses in the format proposed by the TQM.

2. Working towards establishing a multidisciplinary  Energy Research Group (2000).

3.Preparation of a development plan for the Renewable Energy Lab, Heat Transfer lab and Fluid Mechanics Lab 1994,1998 and then 2000).

4. Upgrade of FEA weather station.
