Molecular Workbench

http://workbench.concord.org/

"The Molecular Workbench (MW) software offers interactive visual simulations that have been widely used to teach science and engineering.

It provides not only a powerful easy to use tool for creating interactive simulations (including molecular simulations, mechanical simulations and discrete-element simulations) but also a databases of previously created simulations and activities that contains user interfaces, writing guided activities, report and assessment tools for collecting data and measuring learning."

The website contains demos & simulations for different subjects in Physics, Chemistry & Biology. The MW software is user friendly, interactive and fun to use.

Database of Activities

After setting up WM on your computer you can start using available activities and simulations. Some are found in the WM after installing it, and some are found online.

Found in the WM

Launch WM and click on the link Submissions in the top menu. You will find a list of submitted simulations and activities by other WM users.

Found in Online Databases

You can also benefit from simulations and activities that are available in online Databases. The activities can also serve as complete teaching and learning units.  Each activity includes:

Learning Objectives

Assessment

Classroom Practice

Central Concepts

Textbook References

Activity Credits

Requirements

Click here to browse the Molecular Logic Database.

Click here to browse the Molecular Literacy Database.

Found in Showcase

You can also benefit from a show case that contains collections of interactive simulations and learning activities produced using the Molecular Workbench.

The material is divided in well defined concepts and categories:
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology.

Click here to browse the showcase.

View the "Simulation of the Month"

Non-commercial reproduction of the activities and simulations is encouraged, provided proper credit is given.
