On the exact date the announcement is published, you will receive an automatically generated email telling you that your event will be displayed on the AUBnet Bulletin Board.

  13. Security Information windows keep popping up whenever I submit any request. Can I stop these screens from popping up?
Yes, you can. Follow this link which will guide you through the process of accepting a new Certificate Authority. It will add the PCNS certificate to your browser's lists of Certificate Signers. This means that any certificate signed by PCNS will be accepted by your browser without any warning.

  14. When and how is the AUB Bulletin Board window updated?
The AUB Bulletin Board is a fully automated web self-service system. Authenticated and authorized users post their announcements to a database using a web form. A script runs every midnight, queries the database for an optimized list of current announcements, formats the announcements based on categories placing the most critical and most current events higher on the template, fills the gaps with tips, generates the new bulletin board and publishes it on AUBweb.

  15. In what order are the announcements placed on the bulletin board?

The rules that govern how the announcements are placed on the bulletin board are as follows:
    • The most critical events (such as alerts and maintenance notices) are placed higher on the template.
    • Announcements whose "Event Start Date" is equal to today's date are placed immediately after.
    • Following that are events whose "Display Date" is equal to or greater than today's date. (The "Display Date" is calculated either as the user pre-specified it in the "Event Submittal Form" or for those who did not specify a "Display Date", it is calculated as 7 days less than "Event Start Date".)
    • Next are events that have passed their "Event Start Date" but not their "Event End Date" sorted by date in descending order.

  16. Who should we contact to comment, complain, correct or find out more about an announcement?
The events posted on the AUBnet Web Bulletin are the creations of its users. The Computing and Networking Services staff do not have additional knowledge of the events, and claim no responsibility for their content. Please contact the person posting the event with your questions or concerns.
